Crofton CrossFit Member Christina Fullwood’s Fitness Journey

I started my fitness journey at a young age and have continued to be athletic throughout my entire life. Growing up, I participated in a wide range of sports including basketball, baseball, soccer and flag football. In middle school, I decided to make a major change in my dietary habits and become a pescatarian. There were many people who doubted that I could stay a pescatarian, but I did not give them the satisfaction of being right. I have always had strong will power. To this day I continue to be a pescatarian, however I do it for myself now. In my high school and college years I spent a lot of time playing basketball and skateboarding.

Staying active was, and still is, extremely important to me. In 2009, I joined the military and became really involved in distance running. This surprised me because I never thought that I was the type of person that would enjoy running, especially distance running. After my years in the military I continued running for a while, but then the motivation ended. I started being less active, making unhealthy choices and gaining weight. Thankfully I was able to motivate myself again, so I started running again. This helped me get back to a healthy weight and gain a healthy mindset. In 2015 I started pushing myself more and seeing how far I could run. I reached a point where I would run about 11 miles every single day. I lost a lot of weight but not in the healthiest manner. I ended up injuring both of my knees due to the excessive running. After that, I was a little scared to do anything that involved running and started gaining my weight back.

In 2016, my girlfriend mentioned CrossFit and said that it seemed like something I would be interested in. After hearing about it, I wanted to try it immediately. As an early birthday present, she paid for my personal training sessions with Coach Chris. After the first session, I was hooked! Coach Chris, the other CCF employees, and the CCF athletes were all so welcoming! Crossfit has become a passion of mine. I absolutely love and look forward to my workouts! I love that it is challenging, fun, and keeps me energized and healthy. Crossfit keeps me super motivated to be as healthy and strong as I can be. I am at box at least 5-6 days per week and I am loving every minute of it. CCF has made a huge difference in my life and the way I see health and fitness.

My fitness goal is to increase my strength while maintaining my healthy active lifestyle. Thank you Crofton Crossfit!!!
